International Community Duels

What are International Community Duels?

International Community Duels is a supplemental fundraising event for Guess & Give hosted alongside the main charity streamathon. Participating international communities (see below) play duels or team duels against other communities (in parties). A donation to charity is made for each duel played. Only duels including two or more countries will be counted.

During the main streamathon, there will be two dedicated timeslots to creators playing international community duels: GabrielGeoo and TelaAzul.

In addition to the main streamathon, several ambassadors from the various participating communities will be livestreaming their duels throughout the event! Make sure to check out the discords for more information.

When can I start dueling?

The duels can be played at any time during the event! Below are listed some of the important times for the community duels.

Event Start: Thursday, July 10th @ 04:00 PM
Gabriel's Timeslot: Thursday, July 10th @ 07:00 PM
Tela's Timeslot: Saturday, July 12th @ 07:00 PM
Event End: Sunday, July 13th @ 10:00 PM

How do I participate?

To find teammates and opponents you can use the ⁠#gg-looking-for-duels channel in the Guess and Give discord server. If you want to be pinged you can get the role "Ping to play GeoGuessr" in ⁠roles.

Once the duel is finished, send the link of the duel to #gg-duels-summaries channel. The bot will react with ✔

The results and stats of the duels played are available in this Google sheet. At the end of the event, we'll go over the results during the closing ceremonies, where the community with the most duels played will be crowned and have bragging rights.

How much is raised for charity per duel?

$0.10USD will be raised per player participating in a duel, with a cap at 10 players. In other terms, a duel can raise from $0.20USD (2 players) to $1.00USD (10 players or more)!
